André van Alten
As the son of a family that made its name in the hospitality industry on the Utrechtse Heuvelrug, the career of André van Alten (1969) could have easily gone in quite a different direction. He almost became a professional athlete, but in the end, he brought his winner’s mentality to the kitchen. Since 2000, André has been patron cuisinier of La Provence in Driebergen-Rijsenburg, where he throws himself into his cooking with a characteristic vim and vigor. After receiving a Michelin star in 2011, he’s playing in the Champions League.
