Jef Schuur (1970) is just as passionate about business as he is about cooking. At the tender age of 25, this SVH Master Chef realised one of his dreams – to own a restaurant on Texel. As the largest of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Wadden Islands, Texel is renowned for its natural beauty, and this makes Jef’s recently renovated hotel and restaurant all the more irresistible year-round. After receiving a Michelin star for Bij Jef in 2009, he was not only responsible for putting the Wadden Islands on the map as a culinary destination but found himself unwittingly cast as its main ambassador.
