KARL VAN BAGGEM
After kicking off his career at Restaurant Duurstede* and La Rive*, Karl van Baggem (1971) really came into his own as patron cuisinier of Auguste in Maarssen. In 2005 he received a Michelin star and in the same year, he was proclaimed the Best Upcoming Chef of the Year by Gault&Millau. After a stint at De Hoefslag* in Bosch en Duin, he returned to Maarssen. As a guest-focused patron cuisinier at OpBuuren, he aims for a personal, casual approach with an element of surprise.
